Waseni

Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026

In short: we collect the least that gets an order to your door. We never ask for a national ID card or any official document, and we hold no payment card data because payment is cash at the door. You can delete your account and your data from inside the app at any time.

1. Who we are

Waseni is an app that puts a neighbourhood's shops and its drivers in one marketplace. We do not sell the goods and we do not carry them ourselves: the shop sells, the driver delivers, and we coordinate between them. This policy explains what we collect in order to do that.

Data controller: Waseni — Baghdad, Iraq. Privacy contact: [email protected].

2. What we collect, and why

Nothing here is collected "just in case". Every field has a direct operational reason.

3. What we do not collect

4. Who sees what

This is a three-sided marketplace, so some sharing is unavoidable — but it is bounded:

5. Location

Location permission is requested from drivers only, and used during an active run so the customer knows where their order is. You can withdraw it in your phone's settings at any time; the consequence is that you cannot take new orders until you restore it.

6. Photos

Product photos and storefront images are public inside the app — that is their purpose. Verification photos (the shopfront at registration, the driver with their vehicle) and pickup and handover photos are not public. They are shown only to the parties to that order and to Waseni staff, and are not reachable by direct link.

7. Where data is stored, and how long it stays

Text data is stored in a database on a rented server, and images with Cloudflare R2. Data may pass through servers outside Iraq as a consequence of that infrastructure.

8. Who we share with

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We share only with:

9. Your rights

10. Children

Waseni is not intended for anyone under eighteen. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

On a material change — a new field collected, or a new purpose for an existing one — we update the date at the top and notify you in the app before it takes effect.
